How we verify professionals

Every financial professional listed on BB FinPro goes through a multi-step verification process before their profile is published.

1. Credential documentation — Professionals submit copies of their active credentials: CPA license, CFP certificate, CB or CPB certification, or other recognized designations.
2. Regulatory database check — We cross-reference each professional against FINRA BrokerCheck, the SEC IAPD, and state CPA licensing boards to confirm active standing and check for disciplinary actions.
3. Identity verification — Business entity or individual identity is confirmed through government-issued ID and business registration records.
4. Annual re-verification — Credentials are re-checked annually. Listings with lapsed credentials are suspended pending renewal confirmation.
5. Review authenticity — Client reviews are moderated for authenticity. We flag and investigate reviews showing patterns consistent with fake or incentivized submissions.
